MEET PETE
Pete Snyder is a small business owner, a serial entrepreneur, an innovator, and a problem solver.
Pete started his first company from his apartment when he was 26 years old. That company, New Media Strategies, became the world’s first and one of the largest social media marketing companies.
Under Pete’s leadership, New Media Strategies was named by Inc. Magazine as one of the “500 Fastest Growing Companies in America” for three years in a row. Pete also built an award-winning corporate culture, as both Washingtonian Magazine and Washington Business Journal named New Media Strategies one of the area’s “Best Places to Work.” Snyder was honored by Fortune Small Business for his innovative management style when they named him one of the “Best Bosses in America.”

Later, Pete founded Disruptor Capital, an angel capital investment firm focused on funding and growing disruptive technologies, ideas, and entrepreneurs.

A true champion of small business, during the onset of this horrible COVID-19 pandemic, Pete and his wife Burson launched the Virginia 30 Day Fund, a non-profit whose sole mission is to save as many small businesses and Virginia jobs as possible by providing fully-forgivable loans for small businesses in need. These forgivable loans provide immediate financial assistance to meet payroll, preserve healthcare coverage for employees, and save jobs during the pandemic. What started as an idea to help struggling businesses soon turned into a movement that caught fire across the nation. To date, the Virginia 30 Day Fund and 30 Day Fund related entities, including the recently launched Barstool Fund in partnership with Barstool Sports have raised more than $35 million dollars and ignited small business saving efforts in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Arkansas and Mississippi, saving more than 2500 small businesses and 20,000 jobs across the United States.
“A serial entrepreneur turned angel investor, Pete Snyder has also become a lifeline for small businesses drowning in unexpected debt from the pandemic.” – Virginia Business
A graduate of The College of William and Mary, Snyder served on its Board of Visitors and was a self-proclaimed, “mediocre” D-1 college wrestler for the Tribe. He also served in a leadership role on the Marketing Board of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Pete is active in the conservative movement where he has served in various leadership roles in the Republican Party over the years and ran for Lt. Governor of the Commonwealth in 2013. He is also a certified world-championship BBQ judge, as has been fact-checked by The Washington Post (scored 100% TRUE) and proud owner of the infamous Pete’s Pig Rig. Pete, his wife Burson, his daughter Bee, and their dogs Willie and Waylon, reside in Charlottesville, Virginia.
