Pete Snyder for Governor Announces First Round of Endorsements from Conservative Leaders

Veteran conservative leaders cite Pete’s dedication to saving small businesses throughout Virginia as an example of the problem-solving ability desperately needed in Richmond.

Charlottesville, VA – Conservative outsider and Republican candidate for governor of Virginia Pete Snyder announced today his first round of endorsements from key conservative leaders.

Former State Senator and Mayor of Roanoke Ralph Smith, former Republican National Committeewoman for Virginia Kathy Hayden, conservative leader Tina Freitas, and former 10th District Republican Committee Chairwoman Jo Thoburn unequivocally back Pete Snyder for Governor.

Pete said, “I am honored to have the support of these rock solid conservative leaders. Together, we are building a strong grassroots team across the Commonwealth that will be instrumental in bringing new leadership to Richmond.”

“Not only has Pete proven himself as a successful businessman, he saw the dire situation small businesses were facing at the beginning of this pandemic— and he stepped up and after 11 months his 30 Day Fund saved over 850 small businesses across Virginia,” said former state Senator Ralph Smith. “Pete Snyder is the leader we need in Richmond. When he sees a problem facing the families of Virginia, he won’t rest until it’s fixed.”

“Pete Snyder is our only hope to defeat the Democrats in November,” said former Republican National Committeewoman for Virginia Kathy Hayden. “His plan to open our schools and get Virginia leading again is our solution to making Virginia better for future generations to come. I hope my Republican friends will join me in supporting Pete Snyder for governor.”

“The choice is easy for me.” said Tina Freitas. “Not only does Pete Snyder understand that Virginia businesses need to thrive again, he knows how to make it happen because he’s done it himself. He saw small businesses suffering due to Northam’s shut downs and immediately took action to help them survive through his privately funded 30 Day Fund.”

“Virginia deserves a true conservative who is pro-business and pro-liberty. Pete Snyder is the right choice,” said Former 10th District Republican Committee Chairwoman Jo Thoburn. “He’s an entrepreneur, not another politician. It’s time to shake up the establishment and get Virginia back to school and back to work.”

Pete Snyder announced his candidacy for Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia in January 2021. Pete is a small business champion and conservative outsider committed to exposing the systemic incompetence in Richmond and disrupting the status quo.  Pete is a small business owner, an innovator, and a problem solver.  A true pioneer, Pete started his first company, New Media Strategies, the first social media marketing company in the country, when he was 26 years old. Over the years, as an angel capital investor and CEO of Disruptor Capital, Pete has helped found and grow many small businesses in Virginia and across the country.

When those in charge in Richmond failed to lead us during this pandemic, Pete and his wife Burson stepped up.  Together and with the help of friends and neighbors the Snyders created the Virginia 30 Day Fund, a zero-overhead, non-profit organization that has helped save more than 1,000 small businesses across Virginia and more than 2,500 small businesses across America. Their 30 Day Fund efforts have raised more than $40 million to date, and every single dime of that goes to help keep hard working heroes afloat and their small business dreams alive.  This is the very kind of  new leadership, new energy and innovative thinking Pete will bring to Richmond to restore common sense and get Virginia leading again.

Pete, who has been a World Championship level certified BBQ judge (which the Washington Post’s Politifact rated as “100% True”), is the proud owner of Pete’s Pig Rig, the most infamous BBQ smoker in the Commonwealth. Pete, his wife Burson, his six-year-old daughter Bee, and their puppies Willie and Waylon live in Charlottesville, Virginia.
